With all that is happening in the world it’s hard to think about conserving water —COVID-19 is a threat unlike anything we’ve seen in our lifetimes. Which is why we forgot to post our most recent film for @levis on World Water Day yesterday. We hope you and your families are staying home and safe during this pandemic.

Our planet only has a limited supply of water. Levi’s knows that bringing denim to market takes a lot of resources— and a lot of water. So a few years back Levi’s developed a way to create the worn-in look using stones and saving 3 billion liters of water throughout the process.

We partnered with Levi’s to create a collection of films about the environmental impact our clothing has on the planet. This is the first of a few we’ll be sharing.

It’s admirable when a brand encourages its customers to not buy new and instead repair what they already own.
— let’s admit we have a buying problem, it’s time to scale back, use what we already own and repair what we can. Giving new life to our old clothing gives a longer life to our planet.

Thanks to the team @levis for coming to us to help start telling your sustainability story. This is just the beginning and we’re happy to be locking arms.

We’ve been shooting a documentary deep into northern Alaska for the past 8 days, chasing a story about the changing climate, traditions, and culture of the Iñupiat people. The elders told us there used to be ice in their seas year-round, now the polar ice caps are hundreds of miles from their shores. The water is warm and the change is undeniable.

Words by @campbellbrewer: I’m currently in southern Alaska reflecting on what we experienced in Kaktovik. A lot to unpack as the story of natives around the world seem similar—shrinking hunting land, loss of tradition and knowledge with every passing generation, and the increasing influence of modern technology in the most remote places (they have Netflix and Facebook)....

That’s the story we are aiming to tell, through the eyes of an 11 year old seeking answers from the elders of her tribe— what have we lost? And how can the youth carry the torch of a dwindling way of life at the edge of the world?

All of this is the vision of @gromlet who has been tirelessly pursuing this project, having first visited Kaktovik years ago. We’re proud to lock arms with you to help tell this powerful story. ...We’ll be heading back in a few weeks to continue the mission. ...
